I love costumes! I love looking at them, I love wearing them but most of all I love creating them. As a costume designer and the owner of a small costume rental business, I am fortunate to spend most of my time surrounded by costumes.
When it comes to theatre, I used to say I was an actor who also liked costumes. Then something changed and I now say that I'm a costume designer who also likes to act. I first fell in love with costuming at the University of Guelph, where I spent as much time as I could working backstage with my instructor and mentor, Jill Gill. I even named my business after my favourite place on Guelph's beautiful campus - the costume shop!
I have a bachelor's degree in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph and I'm currently a part-time graduate student of Fanshawe College's Technical Costume Studies program. I am very involved in London's community theatre scene and I have designed costumes for over twenty productions in just the past six years.
I live in London Ontario with my husband and two happy and active boys, who spend a lot of time coming up with ideas for their Halloween costumes each year!
